Artist Bio

Ives Electric (/ˌiːv ɪˈlɛktrɪk) is a brand new act based in London, UK. The Singer, Composer, Producer, and Multi-Instrumentalist has been working in the music industry for many years and blurs the lines between Alternative Rock, Post Punk, Art Rock, and Pop supported by a unique voice and an eccentric and energetic style.

Inspiration

“I am trying to stay clear from niches. However, I do understand that influences are inevitable. As subtle or noticeable as they may be, I only write music to support the stories I am telling. Find out yourself!”

Favorite Instruments/Studio Set-Up

“I play several instruments and although I was introduced to music through playing the piano in the first years of my life, my favorite is probably the electrical guitar. I play custom made pure white telecasters but I only record on a single nonwhite one. I won’t reveal the color but it is the best guitar I’ve ever played and I record every single track with it. I usually play Vox and Supro amplifiers in studio and live with a selection of natural overdrives, turned down aggressive fuzz pedals, plate or digital reverbs and sometimes reduced modulations.”

Challenges

“Learning to play an instrument is a challenge, playing in a band is a challenge, entering the music trade is a challenge. I believe, finding your own sound is the most challenging part though. Being a musician is a challenge in every way.”

Goals

“‘A goal without a plan is just a wish.’ (A.d.S.E.)…I never talk about plans, I show results.”

“What trends in electronic music do you think will be popular in 2024?”

“It’s currently very trendy to cover songs and you rarely see experiments these days. I would imagine this trend will continue for some time, which probably reduces the chances of hearing something completely new in the next few years. As for EDM, there might be more computer generated content rather than human made.”

“What is the most important lesson you have learned in your journey as a music artist?”

“Don’t listen to opinions, listen to yourself.”

Upcoming Singles/Projects/Videos

“There will be at least two more singles this year, followed by a double EP called Black Light (Vol 1 & 2) and a third Side EP as a support for both Black Light Volumes. We are currently shooting video material for the mentioned singles and working on a release date for additional video content, just like studio sessions etc. There will also be a tour which will be announced at one point through all channels.”
